About Me

My photo
In June 2011 I moved to Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa with the view of staying for one year. More than two years later and I have four beautiful Tanzanian foster children and there is no sign of me moving back to the UK. This blog was created as a way for family and friends to keep up to date on our life here and to see my little ones growing up, feel free to take a read and leave your comments. To find out about the work I am doing here visit www.tauf.org.uk (under construction).

Jack Turns 1

At the end of Oct we celebrated Jack's birthday and a few days after that marked the day that he came to live with us. The day before Jack's birthday we had some friends round for cake, Jack thoroughly enjoyed being the centre of attention, on his actual birthday we went to a Halloween party.

He was very happy, he had cake when our friends came over, leftover of that cake on his b'day for breakfast and another cake on his actual birthday...this boy who adores food was in his element.
Jack has grown so much in the year we have had him, he has gone from being a very tiny little baby abandoned in a pit latrine (toilet) to a big, strong, healthy one year old who lights up the room. His personality just shines, he is a true Mummy's boy who just loves cuddles and kisses, he has the ability to make everyone around him laugh.
He has just started to take a few steps and says a variety of words including 'Mummy' 'Daddy' (though I am not sure why since he doesn't have one), 'Uh oh' 'Babu' Grandfather in Swahili, 'Bibi' Grandmother is Swahili and many others. He is a real comedian who loves to laugh and is just a joy to myself and my other children who adore him.
On his actual birthday we went to a halloween party
I am so thankful that this little boy is my son, he is funny, amazing and so precious <3
