About Me

My photo
In June 2011 I moved to Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa with the view of staying for one year. More than two years later and I have four beautiful Tanzanian foster children and there is no sign of me moving back to the UK. This blog was created as a way for family and friends to keep up to date on our life here and to see my little ones growing up, feel free to take a read and leave your comments. Happy Birthday to ME!*!

On March 25th I celebrated my 23rd birthday. In the day I popped to Cradle, went to visit Upendo and beautiful baby Elisha and in the afternoon/evening we had friends over for dinner. Despite 40 hours of electricity over my birthday weekend Mum managed to make a very yummy spag bowl with garlic bread and salad, everyone seemed to enjoy it. We were joined by Dolly, Susan, Mama Musa, Batilda, Mama Musa's nephew Frank, his wife Mama Julianna, his daughter Julianna and Frank's little brother Alan. The children get on really well together and we often joke that Selemani and Julianna will marry and Nancy will marry Alan. I had a wonderful day which included some nice prezzies, socks from the kids, money from family, a handmade necklace from Bryony, a Mum locket from Dad and some other bits too :-) Thank-you to everyone who sent cards/presents/money and birthday wishes. A big thank-you to my mum for making it such a wonderful day!!

Cute baby sodas!
Cheers
If it were up to me my children wouldn't even know what soda means but in Africa where soda is everywhere, that is impossible! I usually manage to steer clear of sodas, I think soda is for adults not children, however, I do have to give in on the odd occasion. On this particular week I had to give in twice, I don't think Selemani & Nancy could quite believe it!!

The whole day was only thanks to my Mum :-)

Larousie my 'Night Watchman' more like 'Sleepman!' absolutly loves the children, he sings & dances with them & in return they adore him. When we drive in or if they hear him the older two shout his name over & over & B reaches to him with a huge grin on her face :-) He doesn't do his job properly but he is great with the kids, crazy & fun so I don't want to get rid of him!*!
