About Me

My photo
In June 2011 I moved to Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa with the view of staying for one year. More than two years later and I have four beautiful Tanzanian foster children and there is no sign of me moving back to the UK. This blog was created as a way for family and friends to keep up to date on our life here and to see my little ones growing up, feel free to take a read and leave your comments. To find out about the work I am doing here visit www.tauf.org.uk (under construction).

Party Time!

Its funny isn't it...? You don't go out for four months then you get invited out twice in one week.
Mama Musa far right looking very glamorous, the colour she and a few others are wearing are wedding colours.
Yesterday Mama Musa invited me to a party for her soon to be sister in law, I guess it is the equivilent of our hen party. The African's really know how to party, despite the fact is was thundering and lightning and pouring with rain, the dance floor was mud and it was pretty chilly everyone was having a ball. These people who struggle with everyday life, you wouldn't think it if you attend one of their parties. I didn't do any dancing...my excuse, my heels sunk in the mud!! I really enjoyed just watching everyone, listening to the music and taking everything in, I stood out somewhat though as I was the only 'Mzungu' there!!

This is where the party girls sits

This made me feel sick but had to take a picture

A dance floor made of mud!!

Two little boys who both fell asleep like this...so cute
Going to a party like this makes me want to marry a Tanzanian man so I can have my own party :-) !!!
