About Me

My photo
In June 2011 I moved to Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa with the view of staying for one year. More than two years later and I have four beautiful Tanzanian foster children and there is no sign of me moving back to the UK. This blog was created as a way for family and friends to keep up to date on our life here and to see my little ones growing up, feel free to take a read and leave your comments. To find out about the work I am doing here visit www.tauf.org.uk (under construction).

PiNk PaNcAkEs!*!

The other day in the shop there was lemon juice on sale, just because it was on sale I brought two bottles thinking that they may come in handy sometime, now I am so glad I brought them because lemon juice isn't readily available here but I had some ready for my pancakes!
I didn't actually realise it was pancake day until noon when I logged onto facebook and everyone was talking about it...thanks friends! I spent the afternoon making pancakes at work then the evening making pancakes at home. I was however a little disappointed, the pancakes at work where lovely, the pancakes at home weren't so good, I now know it was because the mix was to runny, thanks Susan who sorted it out when she arrived. I made pancakes for the kids...pink ones :-) why haven't I thought of that before!! Then when Susan arrived she made lots of pancakes whilst I put the kids to bed, when our Swahili teacher arrived he was just about to tuck into a pancake when he said 'I am allergic to eggs and milk!' I suggest you put the pancakes down then mate!! Susan and I enjoyed ours and the guard had lots as there were many left over :-)
