About Me

My photo
In June 2011 I moved to Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa with the view of staying for one year. More than two years later and I have four beautiful Tanzanian foster children and there is no sign of me moving back to the UK. This blog was created as a way for family and friends to keep up to date on our life here and to see my little ones growing up, feel free to take a read and leave your comments. To find out about the work I am doing here visit www.tauf.org.uk (under construction).

Latest Pics For The Family Album

Nancy's mother and Uncle came to visit, I would never stop them visiting but I can't say I really LIKE it. Her mother always tries to hold Nancy and interact with her but Nancy just screams, can you blame her though this is a lady who she has only seen a couple of times in her life. I am always a little unsure of the best thing to do, do I force Nancy over to her mother or just sit with her and cuddle her which is what she wants, it is a very awkward situation.

A couple of times lately I have taken the kids and Mama Musa to Tanz Hands, local cafe, for a treat after work. My kids and I are very lucky to have Mama Musa in our lives, she loves my children and in return my children adore her calling her BiBi. She is a big part of our lives and I am not quite sure what I would do without her. Here are a couple of pics from Tanzs Hands.

Every weekend recently the kids and I have gone swimming at a hotel called Impala where we meet up with some friends, here are the children enjoying milkshakes last week. We didn't go swimming last week because I wasn't feeling well and the kids refused to go in the baby pool without me.

The other day the kids and I went to Bibi's house where we were playing with her scarfs. First we blindfolded the children then we dressed them up, here are the results!

In this one I think he really looks like a girl

My daughter can pull the funniest faces, the following two pics prove it!!

Bibi let us pic fruit from her pomegranate tree, my goodness I have never tasted such amazing pomegranate seeds, they were delicious.

Some people have been asking after the cats, they are good and healthy and putting on weight. i have decided I will not be keeping one of them as they are very hard work and quite honestly I don't like them. So very soon Jua will be going to live with Bibi and Nyota and Mwezi are going to Upendo and I can NOT say I will besad to see them go, they drive me crazy!!!
